Blaze Get Third Place

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team finished in third place in the P&0 Cup after beating Tilburg 6-1.

With Hull already having lifted the P&O Cup after beating Geelen Eaters 7-1 in the final, Coventry Blaze took on Tilburg at the Sky Dome.

Coventry were ahead just after two minutes when Greg Owen scored with a powerplay goal, assisted by Luke Fulghum.

Kraj hit a second on 3.27, assisted by Fulghum and Fussey before Guthrie hit a third on 13.08, assisted by Weaver and 42 seconds later, Kraj hit his second of the night assisted by Fulghum and Fussey to see the Blaze four goals to the good.

Into the second and the Blaze went nap just after the thirty minute mark, when Owen Fussey scored assisted by Luke Fulghum who then had a penalty shot saved. 

Stones took over as Netminder from Murdy for the third period which saw a sixth goal for Coventry on 43.23 when Farmer found the net, assisted by Guthrie.

Tilburg pulled one back on 53.01 when Brekelmans scored an unassisted goal but it was a mere consolation.
