Luke Fulghum equalised five minutes and eight seconds later to see it at one goal each going into the third period.
Owen Fussey, assisted by Bryan Jurynec and Greg Owen put the Blaze in front on 46.05 but Sheffield took a point when Rod Sarich scored a powerplay goal on 49.46, assisted by Ashley Tait and Mike Ramsey.
