Blaze Do the Double Over Newcastle

Coventry Blaze did the double over Newcastle with a 4-1 victory against the Vipers on Tyneside.

At the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, Blaze coached by Luc Chabot, needed only 4.57 for Corey Le Clair to open the scoring. Barrie Moore and Carlyle Lewis then netted for a 3-0 lead.

Forward Marek Ivan pulled one back for the home side, who had last 2-0 at the Sky Dome last night.

There was no further score until Barrie Moore hit his second of the evening in the third period.

Jon Weaver, Leigh Jamieson and Russ Cowley all scored for Great Britain in an 11-1 win against Romania, but defeats against Poland and Japan meant that Paul Thompson's side were already out of qualification for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
