Coventry Blaze were beaten 5-1 tonight against the Cardiff Devils.

Having lost on penalties last night, The Blaze travelled to Cardiff to take on The Devils in a match watched by a 95% of capacity crowd including around 200 Blaze fans in the 'big blue tent'.

Cardiff went ahead with a powerplay goal from Smith on 6.08 and that was the way it stayed until Pelle fired home a second on 26.22.

That became three on 37.17 when Macrae fired home from the face off circle.

In the third period, Pelle scored his second of the night on 41.20 before Blaze net minder Brett Jaeger was pulled and in came Tom Murdy.

The young Blaze net minder was beaten in the 56th minute when Brad Voth scored, assisted by Davies and K.Smith.

There was something for the Coventry fans to cheer when Luke Fulghum scored on 57.18, assisted by Chambers and Carlson but it was only a consolation as the Blaze took a five goal beating.

On Thursday, the Blaze travel to Sheffield Steelers.
