Blaze Beaten In Sheffield

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team went down to a 7-5 defeat tonight at Sheffield Steelers.

Dustin Cameron fired the Blaze ahead on 1.44 with a powerplay goal, assisted by Schutte. 

Ashley Tait levelled on 3.12 and 37 seconds later, Steve Limpwright put the Steelers ahead.

On 7.06, Coventry levelled through Mike Schutte with a powerplay goal, assisted by Greg Leeb and Shea Guthrie.

The goals in the first period continued but it was the Steelers who scored them through Tyler Michel on 12.46 and Jon Phillips on 19.19.

In the second period, Brad Leeb pulled one back on 26.02, assisted by Schutte and they were level when Shea Guthrie found the net after 29.29, assisted by Sam Smith and Dustin Cameron.

It was only 4-4 for 37 seconds as Jen Jorgensen scored a fifth for Sheffield.

The third period provided three goals. An unassisted Tyler Michel goal on 43.05 gave Sheffield a sixth before the Blaze hit a fifth through Shea Guthrie, assisted by Smith and Schutte.

Then on 58.11, Tyler Michel completed his hat-trick to give Sheffield a 7-5 win.
