Blaze Beaten In Play-Off First Leg

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team were beaten 3-2 by Sheffield Steelers in the first leg of the Play-Off Quarter-Finals.

The Blaze took the lead through a powerplay Russ Cowley goal on 9.28, assisted by Ryan Ginand and Cale Tanaka.

Sheffield levelled just before the end of the first period through Jason Hewitt on 19.22 and on 25.14, Maxime Lacroix fired the Steelers in front.

Back came the Blaze to level with a Gerome Giudice goal on 30.51, assisted by Kelsey Wilson and Michael Devin but on 32.08, an unassisted Steve Goertzen goal gave Sheffield the win.
