Coventry Blaze were beaten 2-1 at home by the Cardiff Devils tonight.

At the Sky Dome tonight, Coventry went into this Elite League game looking for revenge after their midweek defeat at the home of the Devils.

Wearing a special kit for Halloween, Coventry Blaze had Greg Owens hit a post on nine minutes of a first period which saw both sides fail to take their chances.

The deadlock was finally broken on 34.30 when Ben Davies scored assisted by Jason Stone, delighting the visiting fans who had filled one block of the Sky Dome.

The Devils missd an open goal early in the third period but the Blaze gave their support something to cheer about when Danny Stewart scored with a scrappy goal on 47.04 to get Coventry level.

However, the joy was short-lived as Cardiff wrapped up the victory on 48.52 thanks to Phil Hill finding the net.

Next Saturday night, the Blaze are in Belfast before taking on Hull Stingrays at the Sky Dome on Sunday.
