Blaze Beaten By Belfast

Coventry Blaze were beaten 7-4 by Belfast Giants tonight in a Challenge Cup game tonight at the Sky Dome.

The Blaze were ahead with a powerplay goal from Kevin Harvey on 1.06, assisted by Michael Henrich and Ashley Tait and an Adam Henrich goal on 3.23, assisted by Ryan Ginand and Mike Zacharas before Belfast pulled one back through Craig Peacock on 6.20.

On 31.35, Kevin Harvey scored a second to put Blaze 3-1 up, assisted by Ginand and Cale Tanaka but back came Belfast to level with goals from Cody Brockwell on 31.51 and Jeffrey Szwez on 33.24,

Ross Venus fired Coventry back in front on 44.41, assisted by Russ Cowley but Belfast raised their game and levelled through Bobby Sandrock on 46.19 and then took the win with goals from Jeff Mason on 49.35, Kevin Saurette on 58.17 and an empty net goal from Jeffrey Szwez on 59.37.
