Coventry Blaze went down to a 3-2 defeat tonight at the NIC against Nottingham Panthers.

After a goal-less first period, Robert Lachowicz put Nottingham ahead on 29.27. Coventry hit back and Dan Carlson levelled, assisted by Luke Fulghum and Jon Weaver on 31.22 with a powerplay goal.

It was another powerplay goal that saw the Blaze take the lead exactly ten minutes later when Greg Owen found the net, assisted by Fulghum and Carlson.

The Coventry fans in the crowd hoped that a third goal would come but it was Nottingham who scored the fourth goal of the evening when Jeff Hereema netted on 49.08.

Both sides had chances but on 54.36, Matthew Myers scored a third to give Nottingham the two points.

Coventry Blaze are at home to Braehead Clan on Sunday night.
