Blaze Beaten At Home

Coventry Blaze were beaten 2-1 at home in a Challenge Cup game tonight in a Challenge Cup game by Sheffield Steelers.

At the Sky Dome, a bad tempered game saw Jason Hewitt give the Steelers the lead on 25.52, assisted by Jonathan Phillips and Simon Ferguson.

Russ Cowley levelled on 27.58 with a powerplay goal, assisted by Greg Leeb and Mike Beleskey.

Unfortunately, Hewitt scored a second on 33.02 to give Sheffield the win.

Things got heated and it went off on 51.52, with Benn Olson getting two minutes plus ten for checking to the head and misconduct, Greg Leeb five minutes for spearing and a game ban for misconduct and Brad Leeb two minutes for roughing, whilst Jason Hewitt got 2 + 2 for roughing and Rod Sarich received a 2+2 penalty for an attempted butt ending and ten minutes for misconduct.
