Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team went down to a 3-2 defeat tonight at Cardiff.

It all looked good for The Blaze and their travelling support when they took a two goal lead before the end of the first period.

Luke Fulghum opened the scoring when he netted on 9.05, assisted by Chris Allen. This was added to on 18.24 when Man Of The Match Greg Owen scored, assisted by Danny Stewart and Joe Henry.

On 36.15, Wes Jarvis pulled one back for the home side with a powerplay goal but five minutes into the third period, Cardiff were level thanks to Phil Hill firing home from Jarvis' assist.

Both sides had collected twelve penalty points in a match where Brad Voth was kept pretty much in check.

But on 55.49, Voth and his Devils team-mates had the last laugh thanks to Max Birbraer scoring to give Cardiff the victory.

Tomorrow night, The Blaze take on Newcastle Vipers at the Sky Dome. Face off is at 6pm.
