Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team beat Tilburg Trappers tonight in a pre-season game at the Sky Dome.

Having won 4-2 at Cardiff Devils last night, Coventry took the lead in front of a very low crowd, on 17.11 through Owen Fussey, assisted by Sean Selmser and Dan Carlson.

Tilberg levelled one minute and 32 seconds into the second period and then took the lead seven minutes later. However, Coventry hit back with Brad Cruickshank levelling on 32.40.

With parity restored, the Blaze knew that they could beat Tilburg and went for the jugular. It needed three rebounds but Russ Cowley fired the Blaze ahead 25 seconds into the third period.

Then as the goal was being announced, Brian Lee scored a fourth for Coventry, assisted by Fussey and Aaron Nell.

On 46.26, the Blaze went nap with Owen scoring and Cowley scored his second goal of match to give Coventry a 6-2 victory.

On Wednesday night, the Blaze are at home to Cardiff Devils and on Sunday, the league start with a home game against Nottingham Panthers.
