Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team pulled off a rare win over Nottingham Panthers tonight with a 5-3 victory.

At the Sky Dome tonight, Mike McLean fired the Blaze ahead with an unassisted goal on 1.43 but on 5.22 Jordan Fox levelled with a powerplay goal.

A powerplay goal from Owen Fussey, assisted by Robert Farmer and  Dustin Wood on 11.47 got Coventry back in front, only for the Panthers to level, some sixteen seconds before the end of the first through Sami Ryhanen.

There was one goal apiece in the second with Matic Kralj, assisted by Milke McLean hitting a third for the Blaze and Nottingham levelling yet again through Matt Myers on 24.57.

The Coventry fans were going mad when Kralj scored his second goal of the night on 48.25, assisted by Greg Owen and Dustin Wood and four minutes later when there was a fifth goal thanks to Woo Sang-Park scoring assisted by Russ Cowley as the Blaze romped to victory
