Blaze Beat The Panthers

Coventry Blaze beat Nottingham Panthers in an Elite League game tonight.

Dan Carlson put the Blaze ahead in the fifth minute of the first period at a nearly fullSky Dome. The goal was assisted by Adam Calder who added a second just over a minute later. Both were on powerplays.

Six minutes and ten seconds was the time of the second goal and thirty two seconds later, the top scorer for Blaze last season netted again thanks to another assist from Mathias Soderstom.

In the ninth minute, Sylvain Deschalets made it 4-0 to Paul Thompson's team.

That was the score at the end of the first period and into the second, Nottingham scored twice through Brendan Cook and Corey Neilson.

Into the third period and the Blaze had their lead eradicated. Dave Clarke scored first with Jade Gilbraith scoring in the 42nd minute.

The Blaze went straight up the other end of the ice and  Man Of The Match Calder completed his hat-trick with assists from Deschalets and Kelman.

The goals continued with Danny Stewart scoring in the 45th minute before Neilson scored his second of the match to make it 6-5 to the Blaze.

On Saturday,Blaze are at home to Basingstoke Bisons before travelling to Cardiff on Sunday.
