Blaze Beat The Capitals

Coventry Blaze beat Edinburgh Capitals 5-3 tonight

At the Sky Dome tonight, the opening period was pretty quiet apart from a goal being chalked off for by the visitors.

The second brought goals with Russ Cowley opening the scoring on 22.14, assisted by Bryan Jurynec and Dustin Wood. This was followed by Robert Farmer hitting a second on 24.05, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Owen Fussey.

Matic Krajl then hit a third on 26.55 with an assist for Mike McLean and a fourth came on 34.35 through Owen Fussey, assisted by Shea Guthrie, who has signed a new contract, it was announced at the fans forum and Robert Farmer.

Edinburgh hit back with Jiri Hanzal scoring an unassisted goal fifteen seconds later but it was the Blaze who led 4-1 at the end of the second. 

On 50.59,. there was a second for Matic Kralj, assisted by Greg Owen and Mathias Soderstrom but goals from Bari McKenzie on 52.39 and Martin Petrina with a powerplay goal some sixteen seconds from time could not stop Coventry winning.

The Blaze are at home to Nottingham Panthers on Sunday night.
