Coventry Blaze beat Cardiff Devils tonight with a 4-3 Elite League win at the Sky Dome.

Cardiff took the lead through Voth after 45 seconds, only for Sylvain Cloutier to equalise with 5.41 on the clock. However, the opening period suffered two delays due to the state of the ice which had to be repaired and the first period was ended prematurely.

Both sides played some good end to end hockey before Dan Carlsson put the Blaze ahead on 24.23 with a power play goal. This was the only goal of the second period.

Things were tight in the third period but with just over five minutes left, Cardiff's number 28 Petricko equalised.

Twenty three seconds later, Blaze re-took the lead through Curtis Huppe. Deschatelets missed an empty net.

Cardiff pulled their net minder and Danny Stewart scored a fourth but with nine seconds to go, Birbraer pulled one back and the Blaze held on to win 4-3.
