Coventry Blaze beat Cardiff Devils 4-2 in an Elite League game at the Sky Dome tonight.

Paul Thompson included new signing Jon Coleman in his side which was ahead after seventy seconds through Barrie Moore, assisted by Corey LeClair.

But just over two minutes later, Cardiff, backed by ninety supporters in a three quarters full Sky Dome, were level thanks to Wes Jarvis finding the net. Then with Scott Kelman receiving two minutes for boarding, the Devils scored again, this time on the powerplay through Jason Silverthorn after 08.04.

Just before the end of the first period, it was a game of three versus three as Adam Calder, Dan Carlson and both Cardiff scorers each received two minutes plus two for roughing.

On a second period powerplay, Blaze tied the match through Man Of The Match Barrie Moore after 32.45 and five minutes later, Jon Weaver netted assisted by Sylvain Deschalets also on a powerplay.

Victory was wrapped up when Scott Kelman scored after 48.54. Cardiff took this as a sign to vent their frustrations by incurring 18 minutes of penalties to add to the 26 minutes already racked up.

No Cardiff player shook the hand of referee D.Smith and the Cardiff support sang "I'd Rather Be A Loser Than A Cheat" at the end of a game which was recorded by Sky TV and will be shown on Friday night.

Next Saturday, Blaze are at home to Manchester Phoenix with a 7pm start at the Sky Dome. On Sunday, they travel to Nottingham to take on the Panthers, again with face off at 6pm.
