Coventry Blaze triumphed in Belfast tonight against the Giants with a 4-1 victory.

Striker Adam Calder has described Belfast as the best side The Blaze have played so far this season and the Northern Irish side were ahead after 7.30 when Bobby Robins netted.

That lead lasted until five minutes before the end of the second period when Danny Stewart scored from a Jon Weaver assist.

With Paul Thompson's side a man short due to Tom Watkins serving a two minute penalty, Dan Carlson put the Blaze ahead from a Leigh Jamieson assist.



Into the third period and the Blaze continued to plug away.

Belfast continued to get involved with the rough stuff which had seen Scott Kelman get a three game ban the last time the teams met.

Again,whilst on a man down, Blaze scored for the third time in the match when Sylvain Deschalets netted after 55.47.

Tempers were rising amongst the home players and when Deschalets added a fourth after 58.49,all hell broke loose.

Carlyle Lewis got involved with Malcolm McMillan ina fight. Referee Mr Darnell awarded both players a five minute ban and then as things continued, both players got a game ban.

There are no more games this weekend for the Blaze,who are at home to Manchester Phoenix next Saturday. Face off is at 7pm.
