Big Win For Nuneaton

Nuneaton Town had a massive win this afternoon against Hyde at Liberty Way.

Andy Brown opened the scoring in the 34th minute from a York cross and it was two when Simon Forsdick scored twenty minutes later. 

Louis Moult scored a third in the 69th minute and although Louis Almond pulled one back in the 90th minute, Nuneaton won 3-1 and moved five points clear of the bottom four sides with two matches to play.

A crowd of 891 saw Leamington held to a 1-1 draw at home by Weymouth, The Brakes went into the game, knowing a home and results going their way would give them the Southern League title.

It looked good when Batchelor scored in the 40th minute but the Terras snatched a point when Joyce netted in the 78th minute.

Bedworth United were beaten 1-0 at home by already relegated Kettering Town, who had former City keeper Michael Quirke in goal. Johnson scored the only goal of the game in the 43rd minute.

Rugby Town went down to a 2-1 defeat at Fleet Town. Koriya put Rugby ahead in the tenth minute but Cox and Davis scored to give the home side the win.

In the Midland Alliance, Stratford Town won 2-0 at Loughborough University. Tyrone Fagan scored the first in the 15th minute and Lei Brown added a second in the 74th minute.

In the Midland Combination Premier Division, Coventry Copsewood beat Pilkington XXX 5-0, Atherstone beat Pershore 3-0, Nuneaton Griff won 2-1 at Bolehall, Southam United won 2-1 at Castle Vale JKS and Racing Club Warwick drew 2-2 with Blackwood.

In Division Two, Coventry Spartans beat Kenilworth Town 3-0, FC Stratford lost 4-0 at Barton Rovers, Coventry Spires lost 5-0 at home to Sutton United, and Leamington Hibernian lost 2-1 to Burntwood Town.
