Coventry's Cal Crutchlow had his best ever finish in a MotoGp when he finished seventh in today's 25 lapper at the Circuit Da Catalunya in Barcelona.

The rider from Wyken qualified sixth but in a race watched by a crowd of 81,838, he dropped to tenth after a slow start.

He was back up to eighth by the end of lap two and on lap nine, Crutchlow over-took Hayden to move up to seventh as Australian Casey Stoner led by three seconds.

Stoner stayed clear to win the race with Lorenzo second and Brit Ben Speed in third as Crutchlow came home in seventh.

Next week's meeting is at Silverstone.
