Warwickshire duo Ian Bell and Tim Ambrose both played for England in the third one day international at Bristol today.

With the effects of the no result on Wednesday bringing the spirit of the game into disrepute, England needed to make amends but went down to a 22 run defeat.

New Zealand batted first and made 182 from their allotted fifty overs. When England batted, Luke Wright and Kevin Pietersen were early victims before Ian Bell was out for 20.

England were pegged back to 64-4 by the bowling of Southee who took four wickets. One of his wickets was that of Tim Ambrose out for a duck.

Graham Swann and Stuart Broad offered a bit of resistance but England were all out for 160 in 46.2 overs, giving New Zealand the win and making the score in the series 1-1.
