Bees Win At Ipswich

Coventry Bees were back to winning ways with a 47-45 victory at Ipswich Witches tonight.

New signing Polish World Cup winner Krysztof Kasprzak, who had been brought in after Alan Rossiter decided to ship Rory Schlein out to Peterborough made his debut in a sdie which won the opening heat 5-1 through Chris Harris and Ben Barker.

The rain stopped as Carl Wilkinson fell in Heat 2 for a 3-3, followed by heat wins for Ed Kennett and Kasprzak as the Bees were 16-8 ahead after four heats.

Victory for Chris Harris, was followed by Olly Allen, who had put his shoulder out, being excluded as former Bees rider Scott Nicholls took victory in a tactical ride.

Ipswich then won heats seven and ten after two 3-3's to see the score at the
break - Ipswich 29 Coventry 33.

Chris Harris passed Claus Vissing on the second lap of Heat 11 but Ipswich came back winning the next heat 4-2 and heats 13 and 14 5-1.

Kasprzak won the final heat to record 14+1 points for the night and ensure that Bees won the meeting.

On Friday night, the Bees return to Brandon to take on Eastbourne before facing Swindon at home on Monday in a meeting that will be shown live on Sky Sports.
