Coventry Bees Knock Out Cup 2nd Leg at Lakeside Hammers was abandoned tonight after Heat 14 with The Bees 49.38 up.

In a re-run opening heat which saw  Nieminen excluded, Ed Kennett and Arron Summers rode for a 4-2. Lakeside who were eleven points behind after last night's meeting at Brandon, won the next heat 5-1 before Larson and Summers rode for a 5-1 to see the Bees back in front.

Both sides won the next two heats 4-2 and two 3-3's were followed by Larsen and Henning Bager taking a 5-1 to put Coventry 27-21 up after eight heats.

A 4-2 win for the Bees increased their lead before the match race which saw Watt beat Kennett.

Good rides from Chris Harris amongst others made sure the Bees win the next three heats to lead 46-35 as the rain really started to come down.

With heat 14 finishing in a a 3-3, and the rain lashing down, both teams agreed to abandon the meeting by mutual consent and Coventry went through 49-38 victors on the night and 101-79 aggregate winners.
