The 2nd leg of the speedway Knock-out cup quarter final between the Bees and the Belle Vue Aces took place at Brandon last night, with Belle Vue holding a 5 point advantage from Monday nights 1st leg.

With the Aces star rider Jason Crump missing from their line-up, the Bees held high hopes of turning the deficit around, but mechanical gremlins for the Bees reserves, along with a nasty first bend crash in heat 6 which resulted in both Chris Harris and Aces Joe Screen withdrawing, meant that the Bees task was all the greater.

The final score on the night was a win for Coventry by 56 points to 37, giving a 100-86 aggregate margin.

The Bees will meet Poole inthe semi-final with the meeting dates as
1st leg: Coventry v Poole (at Brandon) - Monday August 11
2nd leg: Poole v Coventry (at Wimborne Road) - Wednesday August 13
