Bees Take A Knock Out Cup First Leg Defeat

Coventry Bees Speedway Team were beaten 38-52 by Poole in the first leg of the Knock Out Cup Final.

At Brandon tonight, the Bees had Richard Hall guesting against a Poole side which had Niels Kristian Iversen and former Bees rider Rory Schlein guesting.

Chris Harris had his bike pack up in the opening heat, allowing Poole to take a 5-1 win.

Sam Masters took the second heat for a 3-3 and the scores were level in heat three when Scott Nicholls and Kenni Larsen rode to a 5-1. 

Heat four finished 3-3 before Larsen went down in heat five. for a 4-2 to Poole.

The visitors took Heat six 5-1 and after a 3-3, they took the eighth heat 4-2 to lead by eight points.

There was a man on man race for the fans on a cold night to enjoy and Rory Schlein beat Ed Kennett.

Three 3-3's then followed before Poole win heat twelve 4-2 to lead by ten points.

Niels Kristian Iversen beat Scott Nicholls in the second Man V Man race.

Back to the cup action and a 4-2 to Poole in heat thirteen added another two points to their lead.

That twelve point stayed that way after Michael Szczepaniak got a win for a 3-3 in the penultimate heat and in the final heat, Poole won 4-2 to go into Monday's second leg with a fourteen point lead.
