Bees return victorious

Last night at Purfleet, whilst many were at Wembley seeing England lose to Germany, the Coventry Bees visited the home of the Arena Essex Hammers and returned back up the congested M1 with a 48 points to 42 victory.

Star of the night was Coventry's American reserve Billy Janniro who, from 7 rides, posted a score of 14 points plus 2 bonus. Scott Nicholls led the way with yet another impressive evening, only dropping 1 point in his 5 rides for his score of 14.
Once again the Bees used the rider replacement facility to cover the injured Olly Allen, and Martin Smolinski had an unfortunate night suffering an exclusion and 2 last places. However the rest of the team scored solidly to bring home the victory.

This win now makes it 10 consecutive Elite League victories, and an unbeaten run stretching back 2 months. Better still are the 9 Elite League victories that have been achieved on the road so far this season.

The Bees remain in 2nd place in the table with their next match on Bank Holiday monday at Brandon against last nights opponents, so a victory will see the bonus point being secured.
Start time is 8pm and for this match, and the remaining home matches of the 2007 season at Brandon, children under the age of 11 are admitted free.

On monday League leaders Swindon are at home against Ipswich, but the fixture to look out for on Monday is at Peterborough where the visitors are Poole.
