Coventry Bees speedway team failed to defend their Elite League Pairs title at Kings Lynn tonight.

The Bees with Hans Andersen injured sent Ed Kennett and Ryan Fisher to the meeting. They lost to Lakeside in the first Group race and the second saw them up against former Bees riders Chris Harris and Rory Schlein who now ride for Belle Vue.

The Manchester side won that and although Kennett and Fisher beat Eastbourne in their final group race it was not enough to get them into the next stage of the competition which was eventually won by Poole beating Belle Vue in the final.
