Bees hit hard by injury

The Bees travelled to Purfleet to take on the Lakeside Hammers minus the injured Chris Harris who was nursing a broken nose and whoulder injuries, following him being taken out spectacularly during the latter stages of saturdays Cardiff British Speedway grand prix.

The Bees management elected to use rider replacement to cover for Chris and Billy Janniro took to the tapes for the 1st heat. Sadly for the Bees he came to grief on the 3rd turn of the 1st lap landing heavily on his left shoulder and looking to be in real pain. Unsurprisingly he withdrew from the meeting leaving the remaining 5 riders to take on the Hammers.

Sadly the contest was over after the first 3 heats with the Hammers scoring maximum 5-1's in each, and whilst the Bees were gating well, the tight and tricky track was catching them out too regularly in the early stages.

Highlight race of the night for the Bees was heat 11 which although finishing drawn at 3-3, the Bees pairing of Stead and Allen had their own race with Allen somehow staying on the bike as Stead just didn't seen to know his teammate was that close!

Final score for the night was a resounding 63-29 victory for the Hammers, with the Bees scorers as follows, tonights result leaves the Bees 2nd from bottom with 10 points alongside bottom side Wolverhampton, but the Bees have at least 5 matches in hand against the sides around them.

1. Chris Harris R/R (BJ, RS, SS, OA)
2. Olly Allen 1, 0, 3, 1', 1 = 6+1
3. Rory Schlein 1, 2, 3, 1, 4!, 1 = 12
4. Billy Janniro Fx = 0 Withdrawn
5. Simon Stead 1, 1, 1, 2, 0, 0 = 5
6. Stan Burza 1, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0 = 1
7. Andreas Messing 0, 3, 1, 0, 1 = 5
