Coventry Bees finished their Elite League campaign with a 52-40 win tonight against Peterborough Panthers.
Pre-meeting, it had all been about The Panthers who needed a win to try and make the Play-Offs's. However, at Brandon, the Bees were straight on it, winning the first heat 4-2 thanks to Chris Harris and then taking two 5-1's in the next two heats.
When Scott Nicholls won the fourth heat for a 4-2, Coventry were 18-6 up.
The Panthers came back with a 5-1 in a re-run heat five before Harris snatched a win in heat six on the last lap for a 4-2.
A 3-3 was then followed by Kosciuch taking a tactical ride and getting a 3-5 win for the Panthers, who were now eight points behind.
That eight point gap stayed after two 3-3's and both teams getting a 4-2 before the interval
Peterborough won a twice re-run heat thirteen 4-2 but Larsen and Franc came back for a 4-2.
In the last heat, a good night's work, something which has been too rare this season, was finished when the Bees took an easy 5-1 and won the meeting 52-40.
