After a run of six defeats on the bounce,The Bees played host to second in the table Swindon at Brandon last night, with many Bees supporters fearing the worst as Robins captain Leigh Adams has a good liking to the Brandon track.

These fears would have been compounded after the heat 5 with the Bees down to the Robins by 21 points to 9!

A tactical ride victory by Chris Harris in heat 6 gave the Bees a maximum 8-1 advantage and the gap was now only 5 points at 17 points to 22.

The team spirit, so famous over the past few seasons, then kicked in and the Coventry riders thereafter didn't lose a heat advantage, running out victorious on the night 52 points to 41.

Star of the night was Coventry reserve Ben Barker who weighed in with an impressive 12+3 points from 7 starts, with the Bees scorecard as follows:

1. Chris Harris: 2, 6^, 3, 2, 3 = 16
2. Billy Janniro: 1*, 2*, 2, 0 = 5+2
