The Coventry Bees took to the Brandon shale against top 4 placed Kings Lynn stars for their final elite league match of the 2011 season, without star man Emil Sayfutinov who was already commited to a meeting in Russia.
Tracking Todd Kurtz as a replacement for Emil, the Bees season of injuries continued where Todd fell in the first heat and after medical checks was forced to withdraw from the rest of the meeting. With rider replacement still being used for Edward Kennett this then put the Coventry reserves into sharper focus for the match, where the initial heat 1 4-2 to the Stars was reversed to level the scores.
The next piece of bad luck for the Bees occured in heat 6 where Kenny Larsen fell at the first turn and landed heavily. After receiving treatment on the track Kenny then went to hospital for check-ups which then left the Bees with 4 riders to cover the remaining 9 heats.
And cover they did, as both reserves Poitr Pawlicki and Nick Morris both had 7 rides each with Nick Morris again being the star man of the night as the Bees managed to keep the Stars in check with the final score being 45 points each.
