Coventry Bees Speedway Team are definitely out of the Elite League for the 2011 season.

The Bees, who were the 2010 Elite League Champions, by having walked out of the British Speedway Promoters Association AGM at Bournemouth, had not stated their intention to race in the new season and along with Peterborough Panthers have been taken out of the Elite League system.

Peterborough have said that they are looking to enter the Premier or National League but Coventry have not made any statement as to their future and Bees' management were due for talks with owner Avtar Sandhu today.

The BPSA have announced that the 2011 Sky Sports Elite League will consist of Belle Vue Aces, Birmingham Brummies, Eastbourne Eagles, King's Lynn Stars, Lakeside Hammers, Poole Pirates, Swindon Robins, Wolverhampton Wolves.

They also announced that Plymouth would be the third new club in the Premier League for 2011 with the other additions of Leicester Lions and Ipswich Witches.

Birmingham Brummies, who along with Kings Lynn have taken the places of Coventry and Peterborough are hoping that Bees fans will transfer their allegiance to them if the Bees do not enter a team for the new season in the Premier or National Leagues. However, they have been met with plenty of resistance according to various message boards.
