Bees Beaten In Knockout Cup

Coventry Bees went down to a 51-43 defeat at Wolverhampton tonight in a Knockout Cup tie.

With Chris Harris riding at number five, the Bees lost the first heat 5-1 and Josh Auty won the second heat to see Coventry 8-4 down.

Another 3-3 was followed by a 5-1 for Wolves and a 3-3 in Heat 6, meant that Coventry were now eight points down.

Wolves won the next two heats 4-2 and 5-1, so Chris Harris took a tactical ride and finished second behind Skornici.

After another 4-2 for Wolves, Kasprak had another tactical ride in Heat 11 but could not beat Tai Woffenden.

Heat 12 finished 3-3 and the Bees finally won a heat when Kasprak and Harris won Heat 13 4-2. That was followed up by a 5-1 success for Kennett and Pawlicki but the meeting was over as a 3-3 in the final heat gave Wolves a 51-43 victory.

COVENTRY 43: Krzysztof Kasprzak 11+1, Chris Harris 10+1, Ben Barker 6, Edward Kennett 5+2, Josh Auty 4+1, Przemyslaw Pawlicki 4, Lewis Bridger 3+1  

On Wednesday night, The Bees are away at Lakeside, followed by a trip on Thursday to Swindon, before they take on Eastbourne at Brandon on Friday.
