Coventry Bees Speedway team were beaten at Swindon tonight.

At Blunsdon tonight, Coventry went into the meeting without Emil Sayfutdinov, who was not back in the country in time to travel to Swindon after competing in a meeting in Russia and had Todd Kurtz in at number one and Tyson Nelson at number six.

Prezemyslaw Pawlicki won the opening heat for a 3-3, but The Bees could not deal with Swindon and lost the next two heats 5-1.

In a re-run heat four, the Bees pulled back the 13-5 deficit with a 4-2 win. Pawlicki won heat five and another 4-2 for the Bees in a heat six meant the Bees were four points behind.

Heat seven had to be stopped when Ryan Fisher fell for the second time in the meeting. Then Larsen locked up and Sedgmen fell but got up. The referee stopped the race on what was described as an awful track and awarded a 4-2 win to Swindon.

The tractor came out, trying to sort out the ruts which had helped to take the Bees rider down and the meeting was delayed again.

In heat eight, Pawlicki had his third win of the night for a 4-2 and Ed Kennett did the same in heat nine which finished in a 3-3 after Nelson fell.

Swindon won heat ten 4-2 to see them head by 33-27 before Pawlicki's fourth win of the evening brought a 5-1 for the Bees.

That was cancelled out with a 5-1 for the home side who travel to Brandon on Friday night,

Heat thirteen saw Swindon's Scott Nicholls excluded for touching the tapes and a warning to Kennett. Nicholls was forced to start 15 metres back when the heat was re-run and saw Ed Kennett record his fourth win of the night in a 3-3.

There was six points between the two sides going into the last two heats but the Bees hopes of getting the two wins they needed ended when Travis McGowan fell and Swindon rode to a 4-2 victory in heat fourteen.

The unbeaten Pawlicki and Kennett went in the final heat of the night. The Pole's bike did not even get him off the line, whilst Kennett finished second as Swindon won 50-40.
