Coventry Bees were beaten 46-44 at Peterborough Panthers this morning.

The Bees had Niels-Kristian Iversen riding in place of the injured Hans Anderson and they started well, with two 3-3's and two 5-1's in the opening four heats.

Peterborough had the track watered and graded and they won heat five 4-2 before the next two heats ended in 3-3's.

A very dry track had to be watered again and after a problem with the tapes had been sorted, Przemyslaw Pawlicki won heat eight for The Bees in a 4-2.

A 3-3 and 5-1 to Peterborough before the interval saw Iversen win heat eleven for the Panthers who could not cope with Pawlicki who was riding in place of Nick Morris as the Bees won Heat twelve 5-1 to give themselves a 39-33 lead.

A 5-1 and 4-2 for the Panthers meant that Coventry needed not to lose the final heat but in a blanket finish, Ryan Fisher finished second for Coventry and the Bees were beaten 46-44.
