Bees Beaten At Kings Lynn

Coventry Bees went down to a late defeat at Kings Lynn this evening

Tonight at the Norfolk Arena, the Bees lost Arron Summers in the first heat when his bike packed up but Chris Harris rode well to get a second place behind Kennett Bjerre for a 4-2 for Kings Lynn.

Adam Raynon and Henning Berg made the most of Howe retiring on the first lap and having to seek medical attention to put the Bees ahead with a 5-1 win.

The Bees were on a 5-1 in heat three before it was stopped when Janowski came off his bike, forcing his team-mate Kevin Wolbert off his. Janowski was excluded for the re-run which the Bees won 5-1 to go 12-6 up.

With Howe forced to retire from the meeting, Kings took heat four 4-2 and a shower, heats five and six finished in 3-3's.

Ed Kennett's bike packed up on lap three of heat seven, giving the home side a 5-1 win. Heat eight finished 3-3 before Larsen and Bager both on rider replacement won with a 5-1 to see Coventry 29-25 up at the interval.

Bjerre won heat eleven to give the Stars a 4-2 win but with Szczepaniak having to start fifteen metres back after exceeding the two minutes, Chris Harris and Arron Summers rode to a 5-1.

Heat twelve was a 3-3 but in heat thirteen, Chris Harris suffered a bike malfunction and the Stars rode to a 5-1 to put them with two points with two heats remaining.

Adam Raynon fell off his bike in heat fourteen, allowing Kings Lynn to ride to a 5-1 and back into the lead.

It was a lead they were to keep as the final heat finished in a 3-3 and Coventry were beaten 46-44. 

The Bees are next in action tomorrow night at Birmingham before taking on Wolves at home on Friday night.
