Bees Beaten At Eastbourne

Coventry Bees went down to a three point defeat at Eastbourne tonight.

After last night's win at home to Belle Vue, the Bees travelled down to Eastbourne and faced an Eagles side which had to use rider replacement for Joonas Kylmakorpi.

Coventry got off to a great start winning heats one and three 5-1 either side of a 3-3.

Scott Nicholls got through in Heat four to take two points for the Bees but in the next heat, Eastbourne had reduced the Bees lead to two points with a 5-1 win.

Heat six was a 3-3 but two more 5-1's for Eastbourne turned the tide and put the Eagles six points ahead.

A 3-3 in heat nine, was followed by a re-run heat ten after Larsen was excluded.and Dryml and former Bees rider Lewis Bridger rode to an easy 5-1 to see Eastbourne 35-25 up.

Ed Kennett took the tactical ride in Heat Eleven which had to be re-run after the tapes failed to go up. Kennett and Leigh Lanham rode well for a maximum 8-1 which had the Bees right back in it.with four heats to go.

Heat twelve was a 3-3 won by Chris Harris and the next two heats also finished level.

Everything was now on the final heat but a 3-3 ensured that Eastbourne won the meeting by 48-45.
