Coventry Bees went down to a 53-40  defeat at Eastbourne tonight.

In a meeting which did not start until 9pm, the patched up Bees had Troy Batchelor at number one, Chris Harris at five, Dakota North at six and rider replacement for Pawlicki at number two.

Pedersen and Woodward gated and blocked out Larsen and Batchelor for a 5-1 in the opening heat. The Eagles followed this up with a win for Timo Lahti in a 4-2.

Kenni Larsen and Ryan Fisher went in heat three and gated for a 5-1 and reduce the Eagles lead to two points.

Heats four and five which saw Nick Morris crash and the race awarded, both finished as 3-3's before Eastbourne took the next two heats 4-2.

Add to this a 5-1 in heat eight and Eastbourne were ten points ahead. Chris Harris took the tactical ride and won for a 6-3 to the Bees

Woodward won heat ten 4-2 which was followed by three more 3-3's, meaning that Eastbourne were nine points ahead going into the final two heats.

Woodward went off 15 metres in heat fourteen but the heat finished in a 3-3  and a 5-1 in the final heat for the home side meant that Coventry's visit to Arlington brought a 53-40 defeat.
