Coventry Bees Speedway team beat Peterborough Panthers tonight at Brandon.

With former Bees rider Lee Richardson who was killed whilst riding in Poland on Sinday remembered amid emotional scenes, Peterborough won the opening heat 4-2.

A 3-3 was followed by two 4-2 wins for the Bees before the Panthers went back in front with a 5-1 win in heat five.

The Bees made it 18-18 in heat six followed by Scott Nicholls and Jason Bunyan riding to a 5-1 in the next heat.

Peterborough came back with a 5-1 followed by a 3-3 as the rain in Coventry started to come down and riders expressed their concerns with the track.

Despite the rain coming down, the meeting continued and the Bees took heats 10 and 11 4-2.

A 4-2 to Peterborough in heat twelve cut the Bees lead to two points and a 3-3 in heat thirteen kept it that way.

Bager took the rider replacement in Heat 14 which was stopped and saw Monberg disqualified. The re-run was also stopped. When the heat did run, Linus Sunderstrom won for a 3-3 meaning it was everything to ride for in the final heat.

Heat fifteen had to be re-run after Allen jumped the gate. Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris went for the Bees and they rode to a 5-1 to give The Bees a 48-42 victory.
