Coventry Bees Speedway team needed a last heat victory to give them a 47-43 win against Birmingham Burmmies tonight at Brandon.

The Bees had Chris Schramm guesting at number six and after an opening heat 3-3., Schramm impeded Szczepaniak and the visitors rode to a 5-1.

However, in heat three, that was soon wiped out when Kennett and Larsen rode for a 5-1.

Scott Nicholls and Szczepaniak took another 5-1 to see Coventry go 14-10 up.

A 3-3 in heat five was followed by Chris Harris falling on the last bend to give Birmingham a 5-1 and then Schramm crashed to let Birmingham have a 4-2 and take the lead.

The Bees took a re-run heat eight, followed by a 3-3, Schramm having to reire from the meeting on medical advice and a 5-1 for Birmingham.

After the interval, Birmingham took heat eleven 4-2 to lead by six points, which they kept with a 3-3 in the next heat.

Then, the Bees crowd including members of the Coventry Blaze ice Hockey team had something to cheer when a 4-2 and Harris and Nicholls riding to a 5-1 meant that the scores were level at 42-42, going into the final heat.

Harris and Nicholls went for the Bees. Nicholls got into the lead on the first lap after passing Pedersen and when Chris Harris moved up to second on lap three, the Bees were able to take a 5-1 and win the meeting 47-43.
