Bedworth Through But Leamington Are Out

Bedworth United won a Birmingham Senior Cup Second Round tie against Highgate United on penalties after a 2-2 draw at The Oval .

The Greenbacks took a 26th minute lead through Rueben Wiggins-Thomas but ten minutes in to the second half, the Midland Alliance side were level through their leading scorer Lei Brown.

With eight minutes remaining, Highgate were down to ten men when Dean Curtis was sent off by Sian Massey and Bradley Munn put away the penalty.

But the drama was not over and in the 89th minute, Nathan Edgington equalised for the Tythe Barn based club to send the game into extra time and then penalties which Bedworth won.

At the New Windmill, Leamington went out after being beaten 5-0 by Burton Albion.

Dominic Knowles scored twice in the first half and completed his hat-trick early in the second half before adding a fourth goal after one from Rene Howe.
