Bedworth United's Northern Premier League game at Sheffield FC has been postponed due a heavily waterlogged pitch.

The pitch was inspected by local referee Tom Bramall who declared it unsafe, due to areas of standing water, and several areas of the pitch which were heavily waterlogged. With another heavy downpour forecast for around kick off time, it was decided there would be little chance of the pitch being repaired in time.

Sheffield Manager Ian Whitehorne and Groundsman Peter Bowden said at the inspection: “The referee had no option really; neither Club nor Bedworth would be capable of producing much football on that, some of the areas aren’t safe due to standing water.”
