Beaton Breezes Through

Steve Beaton breezed through his First Round tie with a 3-0 win against                                 Kyle Anderson in the PDC World Championships at Alexander Palace

The Coventry City supporter from Southam who has the nick name of the Bronze Adonis and game to the oche to the tune of "Staying Alive" by The BeeGees.started this first round tie first.

In the first set, Beaton took the first leg. The Australian took the second leg chipping out on 25 and the third. Beaton came back to finish on double top to take the fourth leg. Both darters had chances but Beaton finished on double four to take the first set.

Beaton hit his third 180 in the first leg of the second set which Anderson won after Beaton missed four darts. The former World Champion hit another 180 before he took the second leg with a double eight. More missed darts from Beaton gave Anderson the third leg to lead 2-1. Double sixteen, gave Beaton the fourth heat. Anderson got his first ever 180 at the World Championship in the fifth leg but Beaton got another and finally finished on double eight to take the second set.

A double eighteen finish gave Beaton the first leg in the third set. Anderson missed a 133 check out and Beaton seized the second leg with a double ten finish and finished on double sixteen in the third leg to take the third set and go through to meet James Wade with a 3-0 victory..
