Coventry Bears lost their first league match since May 2006 when they were defeated at Nottingham Outlaws yesterday.

Ty Watson changed his side from the one which had stuffed Birmingham last Saturday and watched his team go down to a 28-6 defeat.

Watson said after the game: "It's always hard to take defeats especially as we have been unbeaten for so long.

We were down on players for today and that was a factor, but we can only blame ourselves for not finishing our sets of six. We have not been playing too well and today we were beaten by the better team.

The season is not over by a long chalk we will probably face the Outlaws twice more this season and that third match which will be in the play offs is the game that matters most. Despite the unflattering scoreline the Outlaws will not be confident that they can repeat todays result on the next occasions we play them."
