Barwell Pegged Back

Midland Alliance side Barwell were pegged back in the first leg of the FA Vase Semi-Final against Whitley Bay.

Barwell, managed by former Coventry Sphinx and Bedworth boss Marcus Law and assisted by former Sphinx reserve team manager Lee Knibbs fielded a team which included a number of Coventry based players.

Phil Bell put the Vase holders ahead in the 12th minute but Adam Cunnington struck twice in the 25th and 38th minute in front of a crowd of 1279 to see Barwell go in ahead at the break.

Kev Charley made it 3-1 in the 78th minute but the Geordies came back through a Paul Chow brace in the 85th and 87th minute to send the tie all level going into the second leg.
