Bad Start For Crutchlow

Wyken's Cal Crutchlow got off to a bad start on his debut in the World Superbikes.

The Yamaha YZF R1 rider had qualified third in the Super Pole but crashed early on in the first 22 lap race at Phillips Island, Melbourne, Australia and was forced to retire.

The race was won by fellow Brit Leon Haslam by 0.004 seconds.

In Race Two, Crutchlow finished ninth in a race won by Carlos Checa with Leon Haslam second.
