Atherstone Hit Seven But Leamington Off

BGB Southern League leaders Leamington had their league game at Sutton Coldfield Town postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but Atherstone kept in touch with the Brakes who have won all ten of their games so far this season, with a 7-1 win.

Barlone hit a hat-trick with goals from a brace from Gaunt and goals from Greenway and Guiney in front of 167 paying spectators.

Nuneaton Town won 4-0 at Stourport Swifts. Marston hit a hat-trick with former Coventry City youngster Mark Noon, who is involved with City's Academy scoring also on the scoresheet for Kevin Wilkins side.

Bedworth travel to Woodford United tomorrow night.

Stratford Town are out of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 3-2 extra time defeat by Tamworth. Joz Jacab and Matty Blair scored for Town whilst former Coventry City reserve teamer Callum Burgess scored for Tamworth.

In the Midland Combination, Coventry Copsewood won 4-1 at Pilkington with goals from Middleton (2), Coulton and PJ Gordon.

Andy Whing, Colin Hawkins and Kevin Thornton all played in Brighton's 4-1 home League Cup defeat by Derby County, who take on Leeds United in the next round.

Leicester City are out of the Johnstone Paint Trophy with a 2-0 defeat at Rotherham.
