Another Pro 40 Defeat For Warwicks

Warwickshire County Cricket Club went down to a 21 run defeat against Surrey at Edgbaston in a Pro 40 match.

Surrey won the toss and batted first. Benning hit 74 whilst former Strictly Come Dancing Champ Mark Ramprakash made 54 not out from 45 balls and Sprigel was forty not out as Surrey reached a total of 238-5.

Warwicks lost Neil Carter for a single with the score on fiv. Jon Trott and Jim Troughton put on 98 for the second wicket before the latter was stumped by Batty for 41.

Trott went onto make 92 from 99 balls but with the next highest score from a Warwickshire player being fifteen, he ran out of partners and Warwicks were all out for 217.

It is back to County Championship action for Warwicks who take on Derbyshire at Edgbaston on Wednesday. Play is due to start at 11am and you can listen to the game via the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire website.
