Ambrose Ton Sees Warwicks Win

An innings of 111 by Tim Ambrose gave Warwickshire a victory over Derbyshire in a Pro40 game.

The home side put Warwicks into bat first and they lost the wickets of Trott,Carter and Troughton for 42 runs.

In came Darren Maddy and Tim Ambrose. Maddy hit 64 from 72 balls including one six whilst Ambrose needed 107 balls to make 111 runs and hit ten fours and one six. The pair put on 179 for the fourth wicket, which was a new Warwickshire record.



At the end of their 40 overs,Warwicks were 229-5.

Tim Gronevald took the wickets of Birch and Smith. Neil Carter took two wickets with Trott and Chris Woakes also recording wickets.

Ian Salisbury was in fine form with the ball and grabbed 4-28 from 6.3 overs to mop up the remaining wickets and give Warwicks the win by 29 runs.
