David Kite Man Of The Match - Tom Leaver

Alveston are the 2010 Coventry Charity Football Cup winners with a 2-1 victory against Coventry Copsewood at the Ricoh Arena.

In a highly entertaining first half, Carl Nolan's Copsewood side started brightly with chances for Curtis Jackson, Petajon Gordon and Joe Holcroft in the opening five minutes.

Then, it was the side from Tiddington to have a go on goal as a powerful 14th minute run and shot from Tunde Adibade whistled over the bar at the CT Stand end.

Curtis Jackson went closer for Copsewood flicking onto the roof of the net but in the 35th minute, Alveston took the lead thanks to Tom Leaver racing on to a through ball and slotting past Furlong from eighteen yards out.

A goal up, Alveston kept pressing and a right footed twenty yard shot from James Davies was well saved by Furlong just before the break.

In to the second half and all the action came in the opening six minutes with Alveston adding a second goal four minutes into the second period after Tunde Adibade headed in from eight yards following a Richard Eastell cross.

Copsewood's reply was immediate. Two minutes later, David Scarr got the ball on the left hand side of the area and left fly with a wonderful shot which flew into the net.

Scarr hit the foot of the post in the 61st minute but Copsewood could not find a way back into the match and it was Alveston who picked up the trophy.
